Summer Spiders!

School’s nearly out for summer, and from Wednesday 24th July our Summer Holiday Camps will be running every day  throughout the break.

White Spider Summer Camps are a fun and safe way to enjoy the sport of rock climbing this summer!

We’ve split the camps into 3 groups, aiming to cater for all ages and abilities:

ROCKTECH

RockTech is our brand new coaching programme. The camp provides an opportunity for keen young climbers to experience and learn some of the more advanced rope handling skills in a series of workshops to prepare them for outside.

  • Each session will include climbing and abseiling as standard, with one other technical aspect of climbing ranging from belay techniques, lead climbing and self rescue included in each session.
  • This would best suit young climbers who can already top rope belay and who wish to explore an adventurous side to the sport!
  • All participants must be aged between 8 – 17 years old.
  • Sessions will be running Monday to Friday 10.00am – 11.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm and at Weekends 17.00pm-18.30pm.

To book, phone us on 0208 397 0390 or email us here.

FUN SPIDERS

This is the most popular choice for young climbers, with 90 minutes packed full of fun.  This camp will include bouldering, top rope climbing, games, challenges and more climbing! No experience is necessary.

We’ve split the clubs by age:

  • Creepy Crawlies – 5 – 6 years old. Please note: unlike our other camps, these sessions will run for an hour.
  • Arachnids – 7 – 12 years old.
  • Black Widows – 13 – 17 years old.

Sessions will be running Monday to Friday 10.00am – 11.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm and Weekends 10.00am – 11.30am and 17.00pm-18.30pm

To book, phone us on 0208 397 0390 or email us here

THE WEB

The Web is all about mastering climbing movement techniques and skills. Packed full of good times, the web is the next step for aspiring young climbers. This is ideal for those who want to progress their climbing and start building on their skills.

  • The sessions will include climbing technique coaching, movement, body positioning, route reading, bouldering, top roping, games, challenges and much much more!
  • Climbers must be aged between 7 and 17 years old to participate.
  • Sessions will be running Monday to Friday 10.00am – 11.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm and Weekends 10.00am – 11.30am and 17.00pm-18.30pm

To book, phone us on 0208 397 0390 or email us here.

Neil Gresham & Stal Competitions!

Who says fun can only happen at the weekend? We are excited to announce that NEIL GRESHAM, pro climber and coach will be here this Wednesday evening, 12th June for an official opening party for our Stal roof!

To celebrate, Neil will be cutting the ribbon on the area and demonstrating a route through the roof.

The competition action will include:

  • First person (or furthest) clean climb the hardest stalactite roof route (~8a) gets the White Spider prize.

  • Marmot have sponsored a route on the Stal Roof, and all completed on-sight ascents will be entered in a prize draw to win a £50 Marmot voucher!

  • CAC (Climbers Against Cancer) fundraising – we have 2 CAC routes and ask for small donations (~50p) to attempt one of the CAC routes. If you complete you get a free tea or coffee.

If that isn't enough excitment for a Wednesday evening – wear your CAC t-shirt or hoody when you come in the door and we'll take a picture with you holding one of the coveted CAC holds. You'll then be added to our glorious  'Customers Against Cancer' board!

Ribbon cutting at about 6pm, bring down a friend who's never been before and we will give them half price entry and you a tea or coffee on the house.

Cheers,
The White Spider Climbing Team.

On top of that, our new CAC (Climbers Against Cancer) holds are up, and we’ll be raising much needed funds for this fantastic cause all day. To get involved, we will ask for donations of 50p (or more if you are feeling generous!) to attempt our 2 CAC routes – complete one and we’ll give you a free tea or coffee.

And finally, if you wear your CAC t-shirt or hoody when you come through the door we'll take a picture with you holding one of the coveted CAC holds and add you to our new 'Customers Against Cancers' board!

Cheers,

the White Spider Climbing Team
