School & Youth Groups
White Spider's school & youth group programmes have been running for a few terms now, and we are now familiar with catering for regular or one off groups.
We are proud to offer a wide range of options, aiming to be as inclusive as possible to all ages and abilities.
"Our session was well organised, no one standing around, good variety of climbs … our instructors were approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our experience was brilliant with welcoming staff as we entered, brilliant instructors and fantastic facilities!”
– Richard Challoner School
"Thank You for the sessions you ran for our summer school. They were fab and we would like to do them again."
– Ashcroft Technology Academy.
What can we offer your group?
Climbing is a fantastic way to get kids moving, offering many physical and mental benefits. All abilities and fitness levels are welcome for those aged 5 and upwards, and it is equally suitable for those with special education needs too.
Climbing can really help build:
– Agility & fitness
– Problem solving
– Trust/Team building
White Spiders’ vertical world is great fun and a fantastic way to exercise, whether it’s a one off session or a term time climbing course, it’s the perfect way to learn through adventure in an indoor controlled environment. Our highly qualified instructors are used to taking groups of all shapes, sizes and abilities – so we are confident we can provide a great active experience for all.
We are able to tailor a climbing programme specifically to match your group’s requirements. Just give us a call on 0208 397 0390 or drop as an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to get started. The school courses here at White Spider directly match the National Curriculums’ aims to provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and to achieve.
This programme might be a one off reward day towards the end of term or a fully instructed syllabus based term programme.
What are the options?
We have the following 3 sessions styles available to you, although if you have particular ideas or requirements outside of this framework we are happy to consider them.
White Spider Reward Session
These sessions are designed to reward good behaviour, or as a fun thing to do as a group.
Benefits: During this session, your group can scale new heights with the adventure package full of climbing, fun & games!
Duration: 1.5 hours
Instructor/Child ratio: 1:6
When can we book?: These can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. Give us a ring (02083970390) or email us to check our availability.
NICAS Levels – Learning how to climb
NICAS stands for National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme, and is basically a UK wide scheme to promote climbing development for all ages.
Benefits: These sessions are a little more focused, with the group progressively learning skills each week culminating in an award at the end of the course.
We can provide this as part of the GCSE syllabus for PE, as an extra-curricular activity, or as part of a youth service.
– The scheme is split into levels as follows:
– Level 1 – 6 x 1 hour sessions
– Level 2 – 10 x 1 hour sessions
(A typical 10 week term should be able to take children through level 1 or 2.)
Instructor/child ratio: 1:6
When can we book?: These sessions can be scheduled during term time or in the holidays, evenings, at weekends or during the day. We are flexible!
Special Educational Needs Program
We provide specific programs for a wide range of behavioural, mental and physical disabilities.
Benefits: Our SEN program is designed to provide a fun and structured way to benefit from all that climbing has to offer. This includes building trust, communication, self confidence, problem solving, concentration, fitness, coordination, goal setting, team building & social skills (within group sessions).
Duration: 1 hour
Instructor/child ratio: as per request, and depending upon complexity.
When can we book?: These sessions are flexible, and can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. Email us or call us on 0208 397 0390 and we can check our availability.
